THE SENIOR TAX RELIEF WORK-OFF PROGRAM FOR 2026
Friday, January 2, 2026
The program runs on the calendar year and will begin January 2, 2026. You must reapply every year. Applications are available at the Senior Center front desk. The purpose of the program is to utilize the skills of qualified senior citizens whose earnings are applied toward payment of their property tax bill. If chosen to work at a site, seniors will earn $15.00 per hour and can work up to 100 hours with a maximum earning amount of $1500 gross. There may be deductions taken out of the earnings with some exceptions. Those participating must complete their hours by the end of October of 2026 for processing. The amount earned will be applied to and appear on the 3rd and 4th quarter tax bill of the next subsequent year. Those participants who were not placed last year will be given consideration for placements for calendar year 2026, if they reapply. Please note that we may not be able to place everyone that applies due to the limitations for placements and guidelines of the program.
Eligibility Guidelines:
* At least 60 years of age
* Reside in Marshfield and occupy the property for which taxes are paid
* Must present a copy of your current tax bill with your name
* If property is in trust, the applicant must be a trustee.
Musical Monday with Jack Craig: SONGS OF THE 1960’S

Join Jack Craig on piano for a “You Pick ‘Em” singalong. Lyric booklets will be provided with dozens of songs from the decade of the 1960’s and audience members will peruse the booklet, pick their favorite song(s) to sing, and hear Jack’s anecdotal information about the songs. Enjoy this educational, art observation experience designed to broaden the minds of its participants. Presentations are for people of all backgrounds, artists and non-artists alike. The featured topic is one of Great Britain’s most controversial and beloved 19th Century painters. Explore his light-infused images with bright colors and unusual brushwork which were a mystery to many of those around him, and a powerful inspiration to those who followed. Mia Regazza of Marshfield serves American and Italian Cuisine. This lunch/dinner program consists of visiting a local restaurant each month with transportation provided by the Senior Center bus. This is a great opportunity to socialize and share a meal together. Participants will meet at the COA and take the bus traveling together as a group. Don’t forget your lunch money! Skip the canned stuff and learn to make your own hearty favorites, including a variety of mild and medium-spiced chilis and stews from ground beef, pork, venison, chicken, and more. MASS AUDUBON SURPRISE! ANIMALS WHO SHARE OUR COMMUNITY

When we are open to evidence, we discover through animal tracks, wildlife cameras, night sounds and glimpses out of the corner of our eyes a whole menagerie of animals that share our community. Despite human activity, the housing expansion and other impacts on fauna, coyotes, fishers, fox and even bobcat travel, hunt and den around town. Produced by Warren Miller Entertainment in partnership with Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum, it tells the story of the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troopers and how they transformed skiing as a whole and championed the U.S. Ski Industry after World War II. After participating in a major turning point in the War, these heroes came back from Italy as pioneering individuals and helped expand skiing from general resort development to a lifestyle sport. DELVENA THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS JACK THE RIPPER

History comes alive – one more time – with the infamous Jack the Ripper – the identity of whom was never known! Learn the details of the ghastly murders of five women from London in 1888. Meet the top suspects in the murders. The audience will have the opportunity to question each of the suspects and draw their own conclusion as to who the “real” Jack the Ripper was. Let’s solve this case once and for all! The cast will open up to the audience at the end of the show for a lively
discussion. This was paid for by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council.
