Volunteer Opportunities:

The value of volunteers at the Council on Aging (COA) is undeniable. Volunteers assist the COA with staffing deficits that operating budgets are unable to fully fund.  Volunteers  fill a variety of needs that helps supplement the day to day operations of the Senior Center. This volunteer support plays a vital role in sustaining the delivery of services and programs. We hope that your volunteer experience is as rewarding to you, as it is beneficial to us.   

Bus Escort: Assists Senior Bus Driver to ensure safety of seniors and help them on/off the bus, carry groceries and be and extra pair of hands and eyes for the Bus Driver.

Congregate Dining Helper: Packages Meals on Wheels, sets up dining room, serves lunches and cleans up at the conclusion of meals.

Cafe Worker: Helps assist the food service managers with cashiering, taking orders, tending to customers and keeping dining area in good order.

Administrative Support / Receptionists: Front line volunteers that assist patrons that enter the Senior Center, answering questions by phone or in person and booking appointments,

Greeter: Works at greeters desk and assists patrons and instructors with sign up sheets, kiosk sign in, general questions and may offer tours. Greeter may also assist with taking attendance for specail events.

Medical Transportation: Transports seniors from their homes to Dialysis appointments, medical appointments and back and/or pick up of prescriptions from the pharmacy. (Flexible day/s plus mileage reimbursement)  Contact Kristen Noonan at 781-834-5581 or  knoonan@townofmarshfield.org

Marshfield Mates: Volunteers to help seniors in their home with small tasks around the house such as changing batteries on smoke detectors, putting up curtain rods or putting in window AC units. 

Gift Shop Workers: Works in the gift shop and assists customers with questions and sales, helps to display donated items, tracts sales in log book.
